Week 17: Opening a Shop?!

Whats Happening and What has Happened?

Alright, alright so I am a very indecisive person. So my last blog I said I was going to change my 20Time to my process of becoming a police officer, but now I’m questioning what I really want to do for a career so we are NOT changing and just staying with my drawing. The only thing I am changing is my name, which is now “sbArtDesigns”.

Now some , not confusing, good news is I am opening up a shopon Etsy. For those who don’t know what Etsy is, it’s a website where people can buy and sell crafts to people from around the world. I am selling prints on here and I plan to expand my inventory to clothes as well such as tee-shirts, sweaters, hats, etc. I am really excited to see how this will turn out and how many I will sell.

I was in a major artists block and slump where I just did not want to draw and/or couldn’t think of what to draw. But I got out of that slump and I am back to my drawings, I have made quite a few new ones. One of the drawings I finished took me 6-7 hours because of the tedious detailing. I also have been transferring a lot of my art to digital so when I make prints it will look nicer.

For my Instagram I have grown a lot since before winter break. Before we went on break I had around 93 followers, I then had a big jump and now I have 121 followers. I have found that the hashtags really help and doing shout out for shout outs work really well.

Above are some of the digital drawings that I have redone from my sketch book.

Prints

So your probably wondering “What the heck is a print?” Well, a print is a copy of the art on smaller or bigger paper.  There are many different ways you can make prints, I personally make mine through the Walgreens app. It’s super easy and affordable (which I love).

Plans for this Next Week

I plan on finishing up my Etsy account today and making more art of course to put on there. I am going to look into making T-shirts, sweaters, and maybe even hats with my art on it. I am going to go to 3 different clothes graphic printing shops and see if there’s any online ones.
